Vladimir Jugović (Serbian: Владимир Југовић) (born 30 August 1969) is a retired Serbian football player renowned for his vision and technique.

Career

Born in Milutovac, a village near Trstenik, Serbia, SFR Yugoslavia, Jugović played throughout his career for numerous top European teams, winning the Champions League twice (with Red Star Belgrade and Juventus). He is regarded as one of the finest players that Serbia has ever produced and one of the best midfielders of his generation.

Before coming to Red Star he played for FK Trstenik and was loaned to FK Rad from Red Star in season 1989–90. After establishing himself with FK Crvena Zvezda (Red Star), with whom he won the 1991 European Cup beating Olympique de Marseille in the final and International Cup beating Colo-Colo from Chile in a match in which he scored the opening two goals, he moved on to Italian side Sampdoria in 1992. He spent three successful seasons at Sampdoria, before he was bought by Serie A giants Juventus. In two seasons at Juventus, he won an Italian national title, as well as a UEFA Champions League, scoring the decisive penalty in the final game against Dutch side AFC Ajax. Jugović successively moved to Lazio for the 1997–98 season, then Atlético Madrid the following year, before settling in Inter in 1999, where he spent two seasons. Jugović finished his career in LR Ahlen, after stints in AS Monaco FC, and VfB Admira Wacker Mödling.
